Brokers - VP level, Professional, Property and Casualty Insurance Lines of business 

(Permanent office-based appointments) 

 

On behalf of my client I invite interest for these three newly created Bermuda based positions. This VP position(s) will be integral in supporting the continued advancement of my clients' service offerings by managing key relationships, developing business opportunities, and executing placements with precision and expertise.  The successful applicant(s) will collaborate closely with clients, retailers, wholesalers, underwriters, and other global partners to deliver tailored solutions for complex risks.

 

The preferred candidates will have:

  • A Bachelors' degree (or higher) in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or an insurance related field - coupled with professional insurance qualifications.

  • Demonstrated insurance knowledge with a track record of success in broking or underwriting complex risks.

  • Proven experience with Bermuda, London, and U.S. insurance/reinsurance markets.

  • Advanced knowledge of program design, policy wording, placement execution, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Excellent previous employer references coupled with an infectious positive work ethic.

Underwriter - Casualty Reinsurance (Permanent office-based appointment) 

 

Based in Bermuda and reporting to the Head of Casualty Reinsurance, the Underwriter will play a crucial role in supporting the build and growth of my Client's Casualty Reinsurance portfolio, including business development, underwriting and profitability monitoring. This is a unique opportunity to learn, contribute, and grow in a
dynamic environment where your work will help shape the future of their portfolio.

The key responsibilities will include:

  • Marketing and business development. Attending industry events/conferences and traveling to meet with brokers and​ clients globally.

  • Evaluating opportunities and prioritizing submissions. 

  • Conducting risk analysis, treaty structuring and pricing.

  • Evaluating client financial objectives.

  • Contract negotiation and contract maintenance.

  • Quoting and authorizing on accounts.

  • Monitoring accumulations, profitability and other key performance indicators.

  • Contributing to the successful implementation of the business plan.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven success as an Underwriter, with a focus on Casualty Reinsurance.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of the casualty market.

  • A University Degree in insurance, business or related field.

  • A Certificate in Insurance (or equivalent, advantageous).

  • Good working relationships with both clients and brokers and the ability to work effectively to negotiate terms and
    conditions for renewal and new business.

  • Strong technical ability to leverage data and to utilize technology. Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of applications with advanced skills in Excel is essential.

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel and work extended hours where appropriate.
